SIVANANDA YOGA TRADITION
RELAX-EXERCISE-BREATHE-EAT WELL-MEDITATE-THINK POSITIVE
"Thou art the master of thy destiny. Thou art divine. Live up to it. Feel and realise thy divine nature. Draw courage and spiritual strength from within."
~ Swami Sivananda Saraswati
Yoga is for all those who believe in wanting, seeking and living a life of peace and contentment. No matter what your belief may be, it is true that yoga will enhance your life physically, emotionally and spiritually. Literally meaning union or yoke in Sanskrit, the practice integrates a series of poses (asanas) which are fulfilled with a certain attitude and place within the mind.
My Yoga Story...
I have been a student of yoga for over 15 years. In the beginning I had an on-and-off relationship with it, but 4 years ago I decided to commit to the path. A sense of anxiety and inner restlessness from within steered me to my decision. A mother and business owner can make one very tense and yoga's taught me to manage deep seated tensions. I met guru Romi Singh at Inner Chi Wellness in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who trained me one-on-one through the Swami Sivananda Saraswati tradition for almost 3 years. The guidance that I have received through this path has led me to acquiring a healthy relationship with my being. I am now Yoga Shiromani or Teacher of Yoga.
Other than feeling good body and soul, yoga will connect you to other key aspects of life. The following four major yoga principles are most important in the tradition:
4.) Jnana-wisdom and philosophy
Now that yoga has become ubiquitous in practice and knowledge around the world, it is my intention to teach yoga so that you may achieve relaxation, asana (exercises), pranayama (breathing exercises), proper diet, meditation and a positive-mindset. I teach children, beginners, intermediate and advanced groups. Yes! Sign me up.
