Each tincture contains a combination of all or some percentage of water, glycerine, vinegar or alcohol. Available sizes are 30ml, 60ml or 120 ml, 240ml (by special order) and $15, $30, $60 and $120 respectively. Please consider an additional fee for shipping.

Herbs with (A) are African conscious plants either originating from Africa or used by traditional healers in Africa. Herbs marked with (I) were/are used by indigenous people of the Americas. We seek to educate the public on specific remedies that are Afro indigenous conscious and to support local sources for our materials. We will mark those particular herbs in their indigenous names.

Acorus calamus

Calamus Root- A powerful herb with a tonic effect the stomach, promoting secretory activity and stimulating appetite. Very effective in treating appetite loss in childhood umbilical colic, anorexia and other appetite disorders. (I)

Aesculus hippocastanum

Horse Chestnut- Horse chestnut is an astringent and anti inflammatory plant influencing the circulatory system. It is useful in supporting vascular health where vascular fullness associated with hemorrhoids, varicose veins, rectal engorgement, phlebitis and leg ulcers are indicated.

Agathosma betulina

Buchu Leaves- Acts as a diuretic and urinary antiseptic. A support for genitourinary infections such as cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis. It has a healing and soothing effect. (A)

Allium sativum

Garlic- One of the most effective herbs as a antimicrobial (virus and bacteria), acts on the respiratory system where chronic bronchitis, respiratory catarrh, recurrent cold and flu and digestive infections. Garlic lowers cholesterol levels blood pressure and serves as a cardiovascular tonic.

Angelica sinensis

Dong Quai- Tones blood and stimulates the circulatory system. Acts on palpitations, pain by congested blood, abdominal pain, traumatic injuries, Helps with irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea.

Articum lappa

Burdock Root- An effective herb in treating dry and scaly skin disorders such as psoriasis, dandruff, eczema where there is systemic imbalance. It is a digestive stimulant, increasing bile secretions, useful in anorexia nervosa ad appetite problems. Burdock is assists in liver function and is used to heal cystitis.

Artemisia annua *

Sweet Wormwood- A bitter herb with an action that stimulates the digestive system aiding with indigestion where gastric juices are a problem. As a strong herb for treating worm infestation especially roundworm, pinworm etc.(A)

Azadirachta indica *

Bidens pilosa*

Caulophyllum thalictroides

Blue Cohosh- An antispasmodic, uterus tonic, eases false labor pains, dysmenorrhea and threatened miscarriage, helps with colic, asthma, nervous coughs.(I)

Ceanothus americanus

Red Root- stimulates the lymphatic system, sore throats, enlarged lymph nodes, shrinking non fibrous cysts. It serves as an astringent for hemorrhoids and hemorrhage. (I)

Citrus aurantium *

Bitter Orange- a useful digestive aid, excellent for headaches and clearing flatulence in the gastrointestinal tract.(A)

Curcuma longa *

Turmeric Root- A powerful gallbladder stimulant, promoting bile. Also stimulates gastric juices. A powerful antioxidant, anti inflammatory and anti hepatotoxic; great remedy for inflammatory conditions such as diabetes, hepatitis, liver disorders and skin conditions.(A)

Cymbopogon citratus *

Lemongrass- A powerful antioxidant herb can help in the prevention of bacteria and candida overgrowth, pain reliever, febrifuge, can improve levels of sugar and cholesterol in the blood. This herb is a uterine stimulant and can increase menstrual flow. CAUTION: not for pregnant women or women experiencing heavy bleeding.(A)

Dioscora villosa *

Wild Yam Root- A valuable antispasmodic used to relieve intestinal colic, diverticulitis, dysmenorrhea and ovarian and uterine pains. Excellent as an anti-inflammatory in aiding rheumatoid arthritis. (A)

Euphrasia officinalis

Eyebright Herb- This herb has an anti-inflammatory action combined with astringent properties. Excellent for nasal catarrh and sinusitis and for eye conditions such as chronic or acute inflammations, stinging, weeping eyes and over-sensitivity to light.

Gentiana lutea

Gentian Root- Excellent in assisting with sluggish digestion and. Lack of appetite, indicated for dyspepsia and flatulence. Stimulates appetite and digestion and promotes the production of saliva, gastric juices and bile.

Geranium maculatum

Geranium- Primarily as an astringent in diarrhea, dysentry and hemorrhoids. Could be useful with other herbs aiding in bleeding duodenal or gastric ulcers. Acts to reduce uterine hemorrhage.(I)

Glycyrrhiza glabra

Licorice Root- Acts on the endocrine system, antihepatoxic on the liver useful in cirrhosis cases. Excellent adaptogen, expectorant, anti-inflammatory in cough and bronchitis. (A)

Harpogophytum procumbens

Devil’s Claw- This herb has an inflammatory property which can help cases of arthritis with inflammation and pain. This is a hepatic assisting in liver and gallbladder problems.(A)

Hydrastis canadensis-

Goldenseal Root- Effective in the digestive system where peptic ulcers and colitis as well as other necessary tonic effects are indicated. Powerful effects as an antimicrobial improving catarrhal conditions. (I) PLEASE NOTE: Only available as a 30ml for $30

Hyssopus officinale

Hyssop- Useful in coughs, bronchitis, chronic catarrh due to antispasmodic action. It also acts as nervine in helping with anxiety.

Inula helenium

Elecampane Root- Useful in irritating bronchial coughs especially in children. It serves as an expectorant, has a soothing action, could be useful in asthma and tuberculosis.

Juglans nigra

Black Walnut Hulls- A powerful worm expeller, anti fungal, mild laxative, useful in supporting problems with eczema and herpes.

Larrea tridentata

Chaparral Leaf- Can relieve inflammation of the respiratory and intestinal tracts. Excellent for topical use as anti inflammatory and for pain relief, moving congestion out of the body. (I)

Lippia alba *

Bushy Lippia- Traditionally used as a remedy for flu and other respiratory issues. Assists with heart conditions especially with tachycardia. Also a good remedy for bladder cleansing.(I)

Lobelia inflata

Lycopus americanum

Bugleweed- Assists in supporting thyroid where there is overactivity accompanied by tightness of breath and shaking. A nervine and support for coughs with nervous origins.(I) (A)

Mahonia aquifolium

Oregon Grape- Acts as a tonic on the liver and gallbladder can can remedy chronic and scaly skin problems such as psoriasis and eczema which caused by systemic imbalances. (I)

Marrubium vulgare

Horehound Herb- Valuable as an expectorant, promotes mucous production, which can ease upper respiratory ailments such as bronchitis, whooping cough and colds. (I) (A)

Matricaria recuitia

Ocinum sanctum*

Holy Basil- A sacred plant it is used as an adaptogen to help with stress and anxiety. It has been used in Ayurveda to support the heart, the mind (Alzheimer’s) and diabetes. (A)

Salvia officinalis *

Sanguinaria canadensis

Bloodroot- A valuable herb in congestive lung conditions, stimulate deficient peripheral circulation. It relaxes ironical muscles and is useful in asthma, laryngitis. (I)

Scutellaria baicalensis

Chinese Skullcap- An antimicrobial, antipyretic, an anti-inflammatory. It is used for high fevers and irritability, thirst, cough as an expectorant of sputum. Helps with painful urinary dysfunction.

Solidago spp

Goldenrod- A valuable plant in upper respiratory ailments such as cough, flu and bronchitis due to its stimulating and astringent actions on the mucous membranes. A useful urinary anti-inflammatory helpful in conditions like cystitis and urethritis. (I)
